Mrs Chatterton (who lived in the big Tudor Style house at the start of Armthorpe Road (hence Chats Pond)) was her cousin. (Chat's Pond was to the East of the old Doncaster Royal Infirmary, about where the new casualty department now is).
Ann says her father always said that if her mother had lived she would have been very disappointed at the way her brothers lived. Their father was quite well off but they squandered the lot as they had always thought that money grew on trees and didn't know how to earn for themselves.
